A LITTLE ABOUT US
Mrs Baker’s Still House | Female run Micro-distillery | Gins, Liqueurs & Whisky
We are tucked away in the quiet Glenpatrick valley of the Pyrenees Ranges, Western Victoria – about 50 minutes north-west of Ballarat. Mrs Baker’s Still House is female lead mirco-distillery making award winning gins and liqueurs. We are a very tight-knit mother-and-daughters team; Jane Baker the founder and power-house, Elizabeth the distiller and Georgette the designer. We share a passion for low-impact production methods, sourcing locally grown botanicals and using an award winning 100% solar-powered distillation process. We absolutely love the landscape that we call home and from our background in wine-making are incredibly passionate about crafting spirits that “harness the flavours of the Pyrenees”.
We have a number of experiences on offer at the cellar door. Mostly, these operate rather casually and are very flexible to your wants and interests. We highly recommend that you call and book ahead to let us know you are coming!
1. Guided tour of the Micro-distillery and/or Gin Garden
2. Intimate guided tasting or a solo tasting with notes provided
3. Grazing platters and mixed drinks
4. Gin Blending Masterclasses (bookings currently available until Feb 2023)
Small batch Gins, Liqueurs & Whisky
We have a range of gins which includes Dry, Pepperberry, Fennel, Shiraz and Christmas gins. We also make small batch Vodka, Limoncello, Coffee liqueur, Triple sec and some seasonal limited releases. There is also Whisky in the works, using barley grown in Skipton and malted in Ballarat.
We also have a range of other farmhouse produce including cordials, marinades, jams, olive oil and vinegar, and wines.
We are stocked in a number of places in Melbourne, Ballarat and throughout Western Victoria. You can find a comprehensive list of our stockists on our website on out 'Contact' page under the heading 'Find us elsewhere'.
Unfortunately our existing cellar door space is very, very cozy! It is great for smaller parties up to about 8 people. We do have a lovely lawn space that stays green pretty much year round, however, this is of course rather weather dependent.
We do serve grazing platters if booked ahead. We don't tend to do lunches on a regular basis unless for a special event booking. However, we have recently built our new pizza oven so watch this space! If you are stuck for options give us a call and we can offer our recommendations.
Yes! We don't yet make any alcohol free gins or liqueurs, but we do have a range of citrus cordials that are made from by-product ingredients from the distillation process.
